The Fugazi Movement

Knockoff !!!

In these uncertain economic times. “Balling on a budget” is essential. With that said! Bootleggers are preying on those thrifty individuals who aspire to stay fresh regardless of the present financial climate.

Anything & everything is being knocked off, from Jordan & Air force 1 sneakers, to Louis Vuitton pocket books. There are also iPod “like” devices being pedaled as real, to the uneducated consumer but before we go any further, lets have a quick lesson on the Fugazi lingo!

The words Fugazi, knock-off and bootleg are all slang terms for imitation merchandise. Most folks will say what is wrong with getting an item that retails for $500 for $100? Well I would say nothing, as long as you know what you are really getting. For example, How would you feel about buying a $ 50,000 Mercedes Benz for $25,000? You would say great only to later find out that it has a Volkswagen Beetle motor in it!

My point is, you get what you pay for! Most often the materials and craftsmanship of authentic merchandise can not be duplicated.

So save yourself the embarrasment of being out “fresh to death” with some Fugazi Gucci Loafers and one of your boys sees you and says, “Yo! Those Gucci Loafs are hot” then does what all of our boys do when we have on some hot kicks and pulls up your pant leg then discovers the G in Gucci is missing from one of the loafs!

Not A Good Look!

The crazy thing about the fugazi movement is that financially, its in high competition with the authentic product makers. They produce millions in profit every year. And, because they understand the consumer demand, the turn around for new products is high. Allowing them to continually appeal to the spenders willing to cut corners. The reality is there are many buyers out there fully willing to accept a mediocre version of their favorite new “it” item just for the sake of appearing to be a have as opposed to a have not!

    All to be down…

This is crazy!!! My world was crushed when I spent a nice amount of money & worked out because of their cut to my body on a lot of your high end jeans….just to see them at a flea market! People need to be aware that they can GET the real thing if they looked around. Even if it’s last season. It’s an investment like anything else.
