Madras the patchwork, lightweight cotton fabric with typically patterned texture and plaid design.

Primarily a preppy staple, it has become more main stream in the past few summers. Madras clothing comes in various colors and designs. You can find this pattern in hats, jackets, shirts, pants and shorts.

One tip when wearing madras, only one piece at a time. Let it be a feature and all else will accentuate it.

Example, a madras jacket over a solid shirt with khakis and boat shoes. Madras versatility is endless. Formal or informal, get your patchwork on this summer!

I have the shorts & I’m looking for a pair of pants……but to me personally the jacket is too much. You can rock the pants with a nice pair of saddle shoes for that golfer look as well.

Madras is a classic that translates great for almost any summer outing. I love to see men rock the pants or shorts. I agree, taking a two piece of this print to the eyes, at one time, is a lot to handle and takes away from it.
