“The Preferred Hue”

I would like to take this time to address an issue that has driven a wedge into this country since it’s inception. Before I begin, I must first say that my words are not intended to offend any one group of people.  They are intended to enlighten and to encourage dialogue.  For reasons we are all aware of, there are generations of people who have been treated like second class citizens based on their ethnicity.  Depending on demographics, the word “minority” covers a broad scope.  The stigma this word has left upon these groups has hindered development and left many with a defeatist attitude.  It’s time to change that perspective.

Over the last two decades, the financial markets have become global and most companies have positioned themselves in order to benefit from this global market.  In many instances, completely relocating.  The world is diverse!  So what does corporate america have to do in order to stay relevant?  Diversify!  My point is… The world as we know it isn’t as simple as “Black & White. It’s “green”! If you are an asset, then you will flourish. For example, most companies covet bi-lingual, even tri-lingual employees.  They are assets. they can make money with those individuals.  They are “green”!  With that being said, let us lose the defeatist attitude and start positioning ourselves to take advantage of this brave new world out there. So what hue are you?

One Response to “The Preferred Hue”

There is something to be said for this subject matter…the preferred hue. We do in affect become what we speak and the defeatist attitude can only further fuel one’s steps in the wrong direction. Sometimes its all about perception…Once it is understood that true value has everthing to do with what is NOT seen (as my boy [you] said “the human brain is somethin’…”), the better road will make itself known (allowing the option to diversify). Until then, it sits in limbo. Not necessarily hiding, but waiting for its destined occupant to become enlightened. However in the interim, the unfortunate thing is… those who understand the true place of the “hue” are out shined by those who separate and stigmatize its existence and all those things that go with it (like ethnicity). If only the enlightened had a better sounding board with a light shined on IT!

As to what hue I would be…I’d say grey…for its neutrality and ability to adapt to any other hue on the wheel!

“we just might be ok afterall/sun gon’ shine on this day…”
